Itsy Bitsy Teeny Weeny Orange Polka Dot Bikini

Wow, I am so behind on blogging…I have a bunch of things to post, just need to actually sit down and do it. I made this little bikini for Lucy a few weeks ago while I was testing the Cabana Swim Bottoms Pattern by Peekaboo Pattern Shop. I made the bottoms using the Cabana Swim Bottoms pattern and for the top I used the La Jolla One-Piece Pattern by Peekaboo Pattern Shop, but I just cut off the top of it and put some elastic around the bottom of the top. It was difficult to get the hang of sewing swimwear for sure, and I think I made 3 bottoms before one turned out acceptable, but once I got the hang of it, it was smooth sailing! The bottoms pattern comes with the choice to add the ruffle (that’s what I did on this one) or a semi-circle skirt. Here are some more pics…

During testing for the bottoms, I also made a set with just basic bottoms (no ruffle) and a Hang-Ten Rash Guard. I’m not so happy with my fabric choice here (a bit old ladyish!), but I love the rash-guard pattern!!! The fit is spot-on and I love the thought of making rash guards for the boys too! Rash guards are a bit pricey to buy! This is the only pic I have of this one…

I’ll be back later today or tomorrow with another post! Gotta catch up!

  1. Ooh…I love that polka dot one! I kinda love sewing swimsuits now! They aren’t nearly as hard as I thought they would be!
