Scalloped Princess Dress Blog Tour

I’m so excited today because it’s my birthday! And because I get to participate in the LittleKiwisCloset very first blog tour for the Scalloped Princess Dress!

This pattern is not only perfect for making any Princess dress you can imagine, but it is a beautiful design and really fabulous for making just an everyday dress too! Lydia (the designer behind it all) really did a great job with this pattern…the instructions are very thorough, the pieces all fit together perfectly, the fit of the dress is spot-on! I love it so much, this is my third one (you can see the first 2 here)!

The pattern comes with several options for outer bodice pieces…scalloped and pointed bottom and sweetheart, round, v-neck, and square neck neck-lines…but, I just used the bodice lining piece, which has such a beautiful shape itself! I also used knit for this one…I didn’t size down because my daughter was already at the lowest size in the pattern, and it’s a little big, but it’s summer here, and I knew it would be big (because it fits her perfectly in wovens), so I added 3/4 length sleeves so she can wear it in the fall! I eliminated the closure in the back since I was using knit. The pattern also has 3 skirt length option…just below knee length, long, and high-low…I chose the high-low skirt, but I shortened it quite a bit to be more tunic length in front. Here are a ton more pictures…

I hope you’ve made it to the end of all my pictures! The most exciting news is the LittleKiwisCloset is doing a giveaway for 2 of her amazing patterns! Here’s the link for the giveaway…
