LOL Swing Top Tester Tour

I have been so excited for this pattern since I tested the Matinee Dress and Peplum Pattern (my post about that is HERE), where Jenn gave us a preview! The design of this top is just gorgeous…and clever and really unique!! So, I was super duper excited when Jenn picked little ole’ me to be a pretester and then a tester! The LOL Swing Top pattern was tested in wovens and in knits and it goes from sizes NB to 12!!! That’s a whole lot of pattern in one! The pattern is not quite released yet, but will be available Here in The Jennuine Design Shop very very soon! I tested the size 12-18 months based on chest size and I tested it in wovens as well as knits! Jenn is a major perfectionist with her patterns and tweaks things to make sure the fit is 100% perfect…which I really really appreciate! I have made several woven and knit versions, and I love them all! Just so I don’t completely bog you down with too many pictures (ha), I have chosen my favorite knit and my favorite woven version to show off!

First I will show off my favorite of the woven versions! I love the way this looks with this fabric combo! This wasn’t my favorite fabric before I made this shirt, but it’s just so perfect for this in my opinion!

In testing, I made 2 knit versions. After I made my first knit version, I was super pumped to make another, but I really needed some sleep, so I made a few changes just to make it quicker…I made a single pleat instead of gathers, I didn’t line the back yoke, and I bound the ribbing around the edges rather than just serging them on (mostly did this because for me it looks neater!). I am so in love with this one!!! My daughter has worn this so many times since I made it! I think it’s my favorite!

Make sure you go check out all the other tester versions on tour

And of course go buy it here when it’s available…

  1. So cute! You’ve been a rockstar tester – I know you think I don’t want to hear the questions (and maybe sometimes it’s hard to hear), but that’s exactly what is needed to make it right! I’ve loved each and every version you’ve made!

  2. Oh my gosh, the chubby shoulders!!! Elbows! So cute! And this top really looks so comfy and functional for a busy little girl. The knit one is my fave. So adorable.

    1. Thank you so much Inder! It is such a comfy top! Lucy has gotten a lot of wear out of it! Now to figure out how to make one appropriate for fall!

    1. Thank you Kimmie! My mom made those pants and my daughter wears them all the time! Luckily I think they will fit her for awhile, but I have an order in for my mom when she outgrows them!
