Project Run and Play Week 1

This is the 8th season of Project Run and Play, but it’s the first that I have been aware of, and I’m super duper excited, both to sew-along and to watch! This blog sewing world is such awesome inspiration to me! The first challenge was to “re-mix” the Oliver & S Popover Sundress Pattern. For my version, I wanted to make something that could be worn in the Fall (I have to be done with summer sewing, our drawers are TOO FULL!). I have been loving all the beautiful corduroys I’ve been seeing lately, and I couldn’t pick just one, so I made a corduroy tiered and bubble (never made anything bubble before and wanted to try it!) Popover Sundress that Lucy can wear in the fall over a T-shirt! All the corduroy’s I picked were from Hobby Lobby.

The adorable birdie hair clip was made (by felting) for her by my 7 year old niece (with some help from my mom too)! To make this clip, my niece and my mom used this awesome tutorial

Next week’s challenge is to make something candy inspired! I can’t wait…I do love candy!

    1. Thanks Kristin! I love your version…the black lace looks so pretty on your daughter! I also love your galaxy dress that you made…I actually have that same fabric…my son picked it out and I can never think of what to make with it! Your dress inspires me to make maybe a tunic or something for my son from it…he would love that!

    1. Thanks Teresa! I love yours too…and the yellow shorts too! I’m a huge fan of the Made Kid’s shorts pattern! I was so happy to see that you were doing PR&P too…I really look forward to seeing what you make!
