It’s no secret I’m a big fan of Twig + Tale Patterns, so I am super excited to be participating in their Cozy Toes Blog Tour today! Twig + Tale has several shoe patterns and just released their Tie Back Boots in Women’s and Men’s sizes! I chose to make the Wayfarer Shoe Pattern for both Lucy and Noah for the tour but I couldn’t help cutting out a pair of Tie Back Boots for myself (stay tuned for those later in the week ;-))
I sewed the Wayfarer Shoes exactly according to the pattern using a thrifted suede jacket (only cost me $5) and scraps of linen for lining. I added a little fringe to give them a mocassin look! The fringe was a super easy addition…I just basted a little rectangle of leather to the toe piece between where the two sides of the heel get sewn on (in Step 7). Then I “fringed” the rectangle at the very end. The fringes looked a bit flat so I ruffled them a bit by curling them up with my finger and hitting that with the iron (on a lower setting).
I also made Noah a pair of Twig + Tale Tree Climbing Shorts (minus the elastic in the legs) using some scraps of linen leftover from another project.
And Lucy is wearing her beloved Pixie Shorts that my Mom made her last summer
In case you are sick of looking at feet, here’s one of the smiley recipients of the Mocassins (and a sucker for his modeling)
